Which Browser Am I Using?
Are you unsure which web browser you are using?
Windows
There are three main browsers used in Windows: Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari.
You may have one or more of these icons on your own desktop. Whichever one you double click on to surf the internet determines which browser you are using.
Internet Explorer
To determine which version of Internet Explorer you are using, open Internet Explorer, click the Help menu and then click “About Internet Explorer”.
The “About Internet Explorer” window will appear, which contains the version number.
Firefox
To determine which version of Firefox you are using, open Firefox, click the Help menu and then click “About Mozilla Firefox”.
The “About Firefox” window will appear, which contains the version number.
Safari
To determine which version of Safari you are using, open Firefox, click the Help menu and then click “About Safari”.
The “About Safari” window will appear, which contains the version number.
Mac OS X
There are two main browsers used in Mac OS X: Safari and Firefox.
You may have one or more of these icons on your own desktop. Whichever one you double click on to surf the internet determines which browser you are using.
Safari
To determine which version of Safari you are using, open Safari, click the Safari menu and then click “About Safari”.
The About Safari window will be displayed, with the version number.
Firefox
To determine which version of Firefox you are using, open Firefox, click the Firefox menu and then click “About Firefox”.
