Welcome!

Wonderville.ca Science Challenges provide a unique model to connect both rural and urban classrooms over the internet with a design challenge. Students involved in the challenges solve practical and relevant engineering design problems using the knowledge they have gained from their class studies. What makes the challenge so powerful is the link between classroom knowledge and real-world problems.

The unique feature of the challenges is that the students use the internet to share their design with other participants and a panel of judges. Students are asked to film a brief presentation of their design and then post this, along with a scientific drawing, a picture of their design and a brief description to the Science Challenge website. Students can then view other participants’ designs and compare ideas.

Next Science Challenge will be February 2010. Registration begins Spring 2009.
